Brief:

Acomplia is the brand name of a new prescription
weight loss drug for dieters, Rimonabant, that has
recently (June 28th, 2006) been approved for use
by patients in the UK.
•
Acomplia also reduces the desire for nicotine, but
is not yet licensed as an aid to stopping smoking.
•
Acomplia is licensed within the European Union,
but has yet to be approved by the FDA in the US.
•
Acomplia is manufactured by the pharmaceutical company
Sanofi Aventis. Its generic name is Rimonabant.
